Captain Shawn has over 35 successful years of experience as a professional fisherman. He has fished all over the United States and most recently captained a 40' Bertram out of Kona Hawaii. (You can see his old boat featured as the backdrop on our checkout page!). Captain Shawn has returned to Gulf Shores to get back to his roots, and now, the fish have no place to hide! Payment & Tipping: We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancellation/Refund Policy: The deposit for this trip is non-refundable (but if the weather is too bad to go out, you will still receive a credit back to your account).

The guy just didn’t know what he was doing.
I learned a lesson. Don’t book online. It is best to know your guide.
I fished with a guide for over 20 years and was sorry to see him retire. Now I’m ready sorry.

Wow so sorry you didn’t enjoy your trip. But to say I don’t know what I am doing is so far off. Over 35yrs of a full time Captain I think I know what I am doing. Let’s start off by saying you never fished in Alabama.Next the water temperature dropped 10 degrees in a week. I finally found some smaller redfish that were tricky to catch and your 3 grandchildren that were in there 20s did catch a few. Also I spent most my of time helping one out that never fished. It’s fishing not filling your freezer every trip. So sorry you didn’t enjoy your trip. But we did catch fish during the worst time of year. We tried every spot and stayed out till we ran out of bait. And definitely don’t be afraid to book online these guys are pros and Captain experience is a well run family company that I personally took fishing and caught 3 blue marlin in one day with one over 700lbs. It’s not nice to badmouth people because you didn’t catch. And again you have never fished in Alabama.

We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
