Coronado Island Fishing Adventure

9 - 12 Hours | Nearshore | 1 - 5 People | Trip #3780

About Your Trip

Nearshore
This trip is one in a million. After leaving the dock in San Diego, you'll cruise offshore to the Coronado Islands, a barren group of rocky outcrops that are home to millions of migratory birds and tons of sea life. This area is one of the most productive fisheries in California, attracting pelagic predators such as Tuna as well as nearshore species such as Barracuda, Yellowtail Amberjack, Rockfish, and more. Profile photo of Captain Experiences guide Sam
Originally from Hawaii, Captain Sam brings energy and exuberance to every charter. Don’t let his age fool you—after working for several years on San Diego sport boats, Captain Sam has the know-how and the work ethic to put his customers on fish. If you've ever wanted to get a California Bluefin on the line, a trip with Captain Sam is a must!

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
My biggest fish that we caught on charter was a 274lb Bluefin Tuna
How did you get started guiding?
Guiding stemmed from my obsession with fishing. I would always try and explain the things I saw out on the water and was never able to quite explain it. Guiding allows me to show my customers the “National Geographic” stuff that goes on off our coastline!
What makes you different from other guides?
For me catching fish is to the upmost importance. Not only do I want you to have a good time but I will do everything in my power to put fish in the boat. This includes staying late or going further than most!
