No matter the time of year, there is always something to catch in Destin FL! Captain Jonathan Goodhart has been fishing these waters year-round and is an expert on fish habits through changing seasons. For these Winter trips inshore, banner days can be had on Redfish, Trout, and Flounder....Read More
Most of the redfish are going to be slot-sized and limits can certainly be had. Big bull reds are slightly fewer and further between often lurking in the open water. To chase these Captain Jonathan will scout the bays and shorelines for birds corralling schools of baitfish. These giant reds like to sit under these schools and get an easy meal.
You can also push it a little further offshore, if the weather permits, to hit the nearshore waters to deep drop for Vermilion and White Snapper.
Captain Jonathan will meet you at the dock with a fully loaded bay boat. Equipped with all the Rods, Reels, Tackle, Bait and Fishing licenses you will need for a wonderful fall day out on the water. You can expect temps to be in the 40-60 degree range in the wintertime so make sure you bring a jacket and your favorite snacks and drinks. Captain Jonathan will take care of the rest to ensure you have an outstanding day out on the water!

Captain Jonathan was excellent and put us on fish immediately. There were 4 us in the party with one being a complete novice at being on a charter. Captain Jonathan was very helpful and supportive of all of us on the trip. He kept us on fish the ...Read More entire time. We were able to catch a variety of species of fish, examples are trigger fish, ramora, snapper, grouper, cobia, and a couple more. We ended up having flipper visit and hang out while fishing. This was neat to see for not being in a dolphin tour. Highly recommend East Pass Inshore Charters with Captain Jonathan. We will definitely be booking again on our next trip. Excellent time!
Great day on the Bay with Capt Jonathan. He called to set expectations that the fishing had been a bit slow on the Bay due to neap tide and scarce bait. We rolled the dice and hoped for the best. Bait was indeed hard to find and quite small but ...Read More he found a few and we were off to fish for redfish near some docks. I caught one small red and my son caught a few snapper. We then did a little trolling in the Bay and caught some bluefish and a ladyfish. We ended the day throwing out some bigger baits hoping for a big redfish. He had a couple of spots he liked and about 10 minutes before it was time to head in we hooked a 32” bull redfish. Great fight and then released him. 3 hrs is a short trip but Jonathan was able to get quite a bit of variety in the short time.
Had a great time with myself, wife and our 3 sons ages 7, 9, and 12. We got right out to our fishing spot and the captain kept all our lines baited constantly despite us all pulling up fish continually; (Along with him taking all the fish we caught off ...Read More the hook). Caught Trigger fish, red vermilion, sand perch, and some others. The captain also gave us great advice in order to boat more fish. He filleted our keep back at the dock and even got us ice to put the fish on (we brought a small soft cooler with some snacks and drinks that worked great to take the fish home in).
Had an absolute blast today! 3 of us started our trip with the captain at 6am. Conditions were a bit rough in the gulf due to some previous rain a few days beforehand and some wind mixed in, but he knew exactly what to do to get us on some ...Read More fish and adjusted accordingly. Landed on a good bite not too far into it. As Virginians who knew next to nothing about saltwater fishing, we learned a lot about it. He even put us on to an incredibly delicious local restaurant that we visited right after. I’d recommend this charter to anybody.
Captain Jonathan was awesome! He was very accommodating, personable, hard working, and knowledgeable!! We had a great time. Not only was the fishing good but we shared a lot of laughs along the way as well. I would highly recommend fishing with Captain Jonathan and we ...Read More will use him every time!!
