Fishing in the inshore waters around Englewood with Captain Tim means you'll be exploring the inlets, back bays, and beach front surf around Manasota Key, Don Pedro Key, all the way down to Caya Costa occasionally as well. These productive waters are home to big Snook, Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead and all kinds of Snapper. Tarpon also inhabit these waters during the late spring and summer months. And when they're in town we highly recommend giving Tarpon fishing a shot!...Read More
There is nothing quite as fun as stalking fish along mangrove islands, stalking across shallow water bays, pitching live-baits into structure, or drifting baits through passes. Captain Tim mostly uses live bait and spinning reels. With proven success, he finds this is the most effective way to put fish into the boat!
Since everything is provided aboard Captain Tim's Charters from Rods and Reels to Ice and Water, all you need to bring are your favorite snacks and drinks, your sunglasses, and your camera and you'll be all set!
Captain Tim has spent his whole life on the water. Originally a commercial fisherman in the Northeast, he gradually transitioned into the charter business and moved to Florida 3 years ago. Captain Tim now operates as a full-time guide through his charter. His specialty in Port Charlotte is Tarpon fishing, but he'll help you catch pretty much anything that's biting around here! In his 40 years of experience, the largest Tarpon he ever caught was a whopping 200 lbs! Whether you're out to beat your own personal record or simply looking for a great first experience, Captain Tim welcomes you aboard.

This was our second charter with Tim and Lilly and they were great, of course! The first fish of the day was the one that got away, a huge snook that I couldn’t land. I saw my first manatee that wasn’t on tv. Then more showed up and it was clear ...Read More that they were making little manatees. A juvenile was sent away and stayed near the boat while the adults did adult things. We saw tarpon most of the day, but they REFUSED to be caught. We’d see them but they kept moving away from us. They’d reappear, showing us their dorsal fins; a flash of silver and they were gone again. Jerks… Later in the day dolphins came out to torment Lilly. They swam around the boat and Lilly chased them. As we left the area they chased the boat, playing in the wake. Lilly was leaning over the stern barking furiously while one dolphin swam inches away. We caught fish all day. Actually my bride caught most of the fish while I fed the fish shrimp. I’m not much of a fisherman, but I did get some, including a couple of keepers. My bride was on fire catching fish constantly. We moved frequently; Tim was always looking for the next good spot. We had a great day and we’ll be back!

The trip did not disappoint! We learned a lot about the seasons of fishing and were lucky to catch enough fish (and more) for dinner. My dad loved fishing from the tower and my mom loved watching the dolphins and us catching fish, and talking with Capt. Tim! ...Read More I learned how to cast a fishing pole and we all loved the trolling and the pier fishing. Captain Tim was entertaining and knowledgeable and quick to set our lines. Lillie was the surprise for mom & dad and my husband and she was so much fun to have aboard. I hightly recommend booking with Captain Tim and would definitely book again.

Captain Tim “hooked” our son with the sport of fishing! He had only fished on lakes with my husband a handful of times, and Captain Tim went above and beyond to show him the proper casting techniques, and everything you need to know about the sport. My husband was thrilled ...Read More beyond belief with this surprise trip, and thoroughly enjoyed Captain Tim’s insight and love for fishing! If Captain Tim can get my 81 year old dad excited about the adventure (who is NOT a fisherman) then hands down, HE IS THE BEST!! We are planning our upcoming vacation, around our next visit with Captain Tim!

CaptainTim was thoughtful of our whole family’s experience. He catered to our kiddos and us patiently teaching, showing and sharing his knowledge of fishing. From start to finish he had our best interest asking if we would like Lily to join…to checking on all continually throughout the ride to see ...Read More if we were feeling ok and enjoying. First Mate Lily was a faithful campion to all. She was sweet and loving to our littles and did a great job keeping the dolphins away from our catches. We Highly Recommend Captains Tim’s (& Lily’s) Fishing Trip! It made for a great day and sweet memories!!!

First off have to say the trip was awesome. We got there and met the captain Tim and his first mate Lillie (his dog which was awesome as we have dogs at home and the kids were missing ours.) He showed us on board and we got headed out. ...Read More First we hit some island docks which got everyone alot of action on the lines. He knew where to go and was able to get everyone a fish despite the varying skill levels. For me usually a trip fishing with kids means I’m spending more time helping the kids vs catching myself this was not the case with Tim. And with the kids being so excited about Lillie being able to come with she was a highlight as well. She knew when a fish was on even before we did. Not to mention all the wildlife we got to see massive sea turtles, stingrays, manatees, and dolphins. We can not rave how great Tim was he was very knowledgeable and not to mention great with kids. He even showed the kids how to run the boat and let them steer the boat some another highlight for our group. The only regret we have is not planning a full day. Next we will be planning a full day.

Our fishing trip with Captain Tim was awesome, and having his dog, Lillie, join us was also a nice surprise! We were able to fish in multiple areas and had a lot of great catches, such as snook, red mangrove, ladyfish, and spanish mackerel. He was very knowledgeable and since ...Read More we had never fished outside of the Midwest, we learned a lot of great information during the trip. Along with the great fishing, we were able to see a plentiful amount of dolphins as well as a manatee! Overall, the fishing trip was fantastic and we would go again with Tim in a heartbeat!

Great experience with Captain Tim and the ships admiral Lillie (his yellow lab). We were not sure if the weather would cooperate but decided to give the trip a try anyhow. We had to stay in the bay due to rough waters in the Gulf. He took us to 2 ...Read More spots where everyone from my family caught fish. A highlight from the trip was watching several Dolphins playing in the bay around the boat. The trip was cut short due to a storm but Captain Tim reduced the rate due to us losing approximately half of our time in the water. Good time despite the weather. Would definitely recommend.
