... Read More of techniques. Depending on the time of year, you can also hope to catch Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Blue Fish, Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle, and Black Drum.
You'll be primarily using different live and cut baits, depending on time of year, but Captain Chris and Captain Joe are always happy to use artificial lures if you desire.
You'll be fishing from the deck of a brand new 26' Blue Wave center console—a perfect craft for these waters. Powered by a 300-horsepower Outboard, you'll be on the fish in no time! Additional features include state of the art electronics with down and side view chirp sonar, multiple live wells and fish boxes, a lavatory (women and emergency use), spot lock tech to hold you over the fish perfectly, plus a hard t-top for extra shade ensuring a comfortable and successful trip.
Most everything you need is provided and comes loaded aboard. Please remember to bring sunscreen, a good pair of polarized sunglasses, non-marking shoes or flip-flops and a camera. A clean cooler with ice is provided on the boat, so feel free to bring your beverages and food of choice. No glass, please. A cooler to put your catch in at the end of the trip is also recommended.
Captain Chris is a born and raised lifetime local. Growing up in a house on Boggy Bayou, part of Choctawhatchee Bay, instilled a deep passion for the water and fishing.
He got his first small boat at the age of 12, which he and his friends used to fish every
... Read More piece of water between Pensacola and Panama City. From there, he started his first job at age 14 as a deckhand on the Destin fishing vessel Lady Evinthia, the sister ship to the New Florida Girl which still operates today.
At age 18 he obtained his OUPV (6-Pack) Captains License and began guiding for Back Country Outfitters in Destin. He worked as a parasail and fishing captain for the next few years during the summers while in college at Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach, FL where he graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Science.
At age 21, he upgraded his license to a 100 Ton Master Captain with an endorsement for Sail and Assistance Towing. When college was over, he continued down a dual career path, working as a flight instructor on Eglin AFB, and freelancing as a Captain for a charter.
At age 25, while working as a pilot for Comair, he became the Fleet Master and Lead Captain for AJ's in Destin. Soon after he met his wife Brandi, who blessed him with their amazing Daughter Brinley. He was hired as a pilot by American Airlines in 2010 where he continues his aviation career to this day.
Now as the Founder and Owner of his Inshore Fishing Company, he continues his lifelong passion for fishing, flying, and sharing this amazing area we call home.
