On the barrier island across the causeway from Miami, Key Biscayne is home to long beaches, mangroves, and incredible fishing. Few places have a fishery as rich and productive as the waters surrounding Key Biscayne. With half of a million people and incredible fishing just a short charter boat ride away, it is sure to be a great trip. The consistent warm weather means something is always in season, no matter where you're fishing, and once you get off the water, there is always something to do. Whether you're a high-octane angler, or just taking the family out for a relaxing day on the bay, Key Biscayne fishing charters have it all.
Minutes away from the loud city blocks is one of the largest and most biodiverse open water inshore fisheries on Florida's Atlantic coast. Biscayne Bay stretches from North Miami all the way down to Elliot Key close to the Southern Glades.
It is impossible to fish all of this water in a year, much less a single day. Luckily, our Miami fishing charters know all the best spots. Throughout Biscayne Bay there are numerous islands, flats, cuts, canals, and channels. Here is where you'll find monster snook, permit, bonefish, redfish, and more. If you can stand the heat of summer, you'll have a chance at catching a tarpon. These Silver Kings hang out in channels, flats, and around bridge pilings as they fill up on schooling Menhaden and other baitfish.
Key Biscayne Deep Sea Fishing Charters
Only a short trip from the dock there are hundreds of reefs, wrecks, and shallow structure, all teeming with life. Reef & wreck trips are excellent for taking the family out because you can catch a variety of fish species with a relatively laid back fishing style. Fishing shallow structure can produce grouper, snapper, triggerfish, jacks, and an assortment of other reef fish.
Trolling deep offshore waters gives you the opportunity to target massive pelagic species. The Gulf Stream is an ocean current that has become well known among anglers for holding giant fish. In Key Biscayne the Gulf Stream is closer to shore than usual. Since it runs so close to shore, fish that usually require extended trips to reach prime fishing grounds can be found on just a day trip. Running out to deep bluewater means taking a shot at tuna, sailfish, mahi-mahi, wahoo, and billfish. Serious anglers come from all over to take advantage of the offshore opportunities in Key Biscayne. The blue marlin bite comes on strong in the summer months followed by the swordfish and sailfish in the winter. With mahi-mahi, tuna, and wahoo biting year-round, there’s always giant fish to be caught.
