Everything You Need to Know About Atlanta, Georgia Fishing

Chattahoochee River Fly Fishing

Just a stone's throw from Atlanta is the great Chattahoochee National Forest and some truly wild waters. The Chattahoochee River (the 'Hooch) is an incredibly productive trout fishery that houses some true monsters, and with a number of great spots (Buford Dam, Jones Bridge, Paces Mill, Settles Bridge) just a few miles from Atlanta its amazing that this area is not more widely spoken about.

The river houses rainbows and browns in big numbers and fish over 20 inches are not unheard of! The state record brown is 18 lbs! The river has not been named a top trout fishery for no reason.
