These "humps," as they're called, provide dependable deep-sea action unlike any fishing grounds in the world. There you'll look for large flocks of diving birds, and fish crashing, when you see it you know you are in for an exciting day of fishing in the Florida Keys. **Mahi-Mahi** There is nothing quite like getting into a school of mahi-mahi and watching them fly through the crystal clear water after your bait. Once in a school, you can expect lots of excitement on deck as several lines hook up at once. Dolphin can be quite acrobatic putting on a spectacular show. In the spring and summer dolphins are plentiful from the Islamorada hump to the west hump and almost anywhere in between. Captain Frank will watch carefully for diving frigate birds and floating debris. Once he's zeroed in on the dolphin, these magnificently colorful fish can be lured into quite a feeding frenzy. **Tuna** In the winter months, Black Fin Tuna are plentiful on the Islamorada hump. We troll live bait while pitching pilchards over the side. Smaller Blackfins also make for great bait to catch those monster AJ's (amberjack). This is a fight you won't soon forget! **Marlin** We always have a pitch rod ready should a sailfish or marlin decide to show up for feeding time. We will also have a rod rigged with a wire leader ready, fishing the humps for wahoo. Spiny Lobster or Florida Lobster are found in various water depths through the Florida Keys, they are fun to catch and are excellent table fare. Each year there is a two-day mini-season, pre-season opener, which occurs on the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July, Lobster hunting during the mini-season is 300$ more expensive per trip. The regular eight-month Lobster season runs from August 6th-March 31st. Florida Lobsters are found hiding under coral heads, rock ledges, holes, or really anything that they can back into and get some shelter. We catch them in depths from three feet to 150+ feet of water, making them a great hunt for any age or experience level. We catch spiny lobster with a net and tickle stick, lobster snare, or by simply grabbing them. Keep in mind, these lobsters DO NOT have claws. Fishing on the reefs edge for a variety of fish including Trigger, Yellowtail Snapper, Cero Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Grouper, Aside from bay fishing, the most relaxing and family friendly way to fish in the keys! We will target such species as Yellowtail, Snapper, Mangrove, Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Groupers, and Barracuda.
