Captain Hal has been a Nantucket island resident since 1980, and has fished these prolific waters since he first stepped foot on Nantucket in the late 70's....Read More
Growing up on the coast of Long Island, Captain Hal has learned and mastered an arsenal of strategies for catching the elusive Striped Bass.
After graduating from Hartwick College in 1979, Captain Hal moved to South Florida and took a job working on a large sport fishing boat in Ft Lauderdale. He traveled throughout the Bahamas and Florida Keys fishing for Sailfish and Marlin and during the summers, he traveled to Gloucester and Provincetown and fished for Giant Tuna.
He has gone toe to toe with multiple giant Tuna, the largest of which weighed 965 lbs.
After all that fun, Captain Hal settled down in Nantucket and began passing his passion for fishing to his sons Tyler and Sam. From there, Captain Hal started his charters in the summer of 1996 to share his passion for fishing beyond his immediate family.
Captain Hal specializes in light tackle sight casting and all things Fly Fishing for his favorite Nantucket species to target, Striped Bass and Bluefish!

My family has been fishing with Hal during many summer vacations on ...Read More Nantucket and he always treats us very well. He knows the waters and fish surrounding Nantucket and the Vineyard better than any other guide I have been with. Very accommodating to girls, kids, first timers, and experts.
