Spending time on and around the water has always been an important part of Captain Mike's life. Growing up in Northport, a small fishing village on Long Island, he spent his childhood fishing, clamming and working on boats. This led to a lifelong passion for the outdoors. As he grew up, he worked on many commercial fishing boats, starting out on the old oyster dredge boats that fished out of Northport. After moving to Alaska to fish for Cod and Pollock, he joined the Navy, where he was stationed in Virginia Beach. This gave him the chance to fish the bountiful waters of the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, and South Carolina. When he sustained a serious injury to his leg in the first Gulf War, Captain Mike was honorably discharged from the Navy. After that point, he dedicated his life to charter fishing. Mike has lived and worked in Montauk since 2000, working on commercial and charter fishing boats as well as serving local marinas. Now, he wants to share all this experience with you. Book a trip with him to see what Montauk sportfishing is all about!

Family trip with two young boys and first timers. The CUJO is a roomy, comfortable boat, and Captain Mike and Steve did everything possible to make it fun and easy for adults and kids. Started reeling in a few stripers including a 50 pounder that we released. Then we bottom ...Read More fished for porgy and sea bass, which was easier for the kids to handle. Fish were biting constantly that we literally never waited more than a minute before something was on the hook. We were all worn out by the end from catching so many fish, but we’ll have memories for a lifetime. Highly recommended!

Capt Mike and Mate Steve were the best! I’ve been fishing out of Montauk many times but never with a team as efficient, friendly and expert as on the CUJO. Caught our limit and had a great day.

Captain Mike had us on the fish all day. He went above and beyond to ensure that my group went home happy. Excellent Captain with a clean boat. I would go fishing with him again.
