If you've been searching for the fishing trip of a lifetime, look no further. Captain Mike ("Moke") is an expert when it comes to fishing Lake Erie for both Walleye and Steelhead, and he'll make sure that you and yours have a blast and catch 'em up....Read More
On this trip, you'll be casting out for "wallhanger" Walleye, throwing a variety of lures to draw bites. Depending on the time of year, there are a several different techniques to choose from. In the spring, you'll employ diving crank baits that can find Walleye down in the deep, cold water. Towards the middle of the summer, you'll focus on trolling for Walleye towards the middle of the water column. This is an exciting (and chaotic) way to fish when multiple rods start bending at once! You'll also be trolling for Steelhead, a type of fish that's essentially a Rainbow Trout on steroids. These fish hit hard, jump high, and are extremely fun to fight. They're also excellent eating, whether you choose to throw some fillets on the grill or sear them on the stove.
You'll be fishing from the deck of Captain Moke's 21' Warrior skiff, a great boat for small-group fishing. She's packing twin 350-HP Suzuki engines, so you'll be absolutely flying off the dock and out to the hot fishing spots!
Captain Moke will supply everything you need for a blue-ribbon day, including all rods, reels, bait and tackle! Just bring a cooler with some snacks and drinks, sunscreen, and proper clothing! The only question is, when are you coming up?
Captain Mike "Moke" Mochan grew up on the shores of Lake Erie and has been sport fishing for Walleye, Perch, and Steelhead for over 40 years. Captain Moke also competes in tournaments on the local and national level and won the prestigious Cabela's National Walleye Trail on Lake Erie in 2017. He pays attention to his customers' safety and will make sure you have a memorable day on the water. Come spend the day on beautiful Lake Erie chasing trophy Walleye and Perch!
