On the trip, you'll board Captain Rod's 28' Alumaweld boat and head out onto the mouth of the Columbia River. The captain will take you to the best crabbing spots in the area to lay some pots, then you'll get out deeper for some fishing before returning to check your crab traps. The captain will give you instructions on how to set the pots and how to properly measure and check the crabs, so even if you're a beginner you'll be able to participate and have fun.
While you're fishing, you'll be surrounded by stunning scenery, with the rugged Oregon coast on one side and the vast Pacific Ocean on the other. You might even see some wildlife, such as seals, sea lions, or seabirds.
At the end of the day, the captain will help you sort and clean your catch, so you can take it home to enjoy a fresh, delicious meal. This is a great way to do it all in the PNW, so get out there!
