Captain Lil Joe's started his fishing career fishing ponds, creeks, rivers and lakes all around the world. Having served in our Nation's military, Captain Lil Joe had the opportunity to fish all waters imaginable, all over the world. His passion for fishing led him to join local Bass Clubs, and ultimately to fishing competitive Bass Circuits.

Captain Lil Joe truly enjoyed
fishing the circuits, especially since he fished at the circuit level competitively with his youngest son for many years.

So how did he make the move from freshwater to saltwater fishing? A very close friend and former fishing partner kept telling him that if he tried bay fishing, he'd never go back to bass fishing. As if on cue, Captain Lil Joe's youngest son said, “hey dad, let’s head down to fish pass, camp out and do some fishing”.

Take a sip if you've heard this one before: "after hooking into my first Redfish, there was no turning back. I will never forget that first one." As Captain Lil Joe puts it, "the fight, the deep blue sky, slight breeze out of the southeast removing the sweat from my brow. The wildlife constantly surrounding me. Well let’s just say I thought I was in heaven. Pure serenity and relaxation. From time to time I do miss the thrill that competitive tournament fishing provided, however I will tell you what is much more fulfilling than that. Having the opportunity to teach a young boy or girl how to cast a fishing pole, and the beaming smile they have when the cast actually goes the direction they intended, and further than 20 feet. Then when that first big Redfish or Speckled Trout hammers their line, they are so excited, scared all at the same time, then when the fish is in the net, nothing but pure joy is on the boat. Now nothing beats that experience, nothing. Sharing the outdoor experience has become my passion. From taking off from the dock at daybreak to returning to the dock, I enjoy showing people what the Lord has blessed us with. Experiencing nature first hand. From the first time fishing trip, to the experienced angler, I look forward to the opportunity of sharing my passion with you."

Captain Lil Joe fishes quality Penn and Falcon rods and reels, with live bait and artificial lures included as well. Back at the docks, Captain Lil Joe is happy to clean and fillet your catch for you.

How did you get started guiding?
My wife suggested I start guiding when I retired from the military. Was too busy bass fishing circuits until I got hooked on this saltwater fishing. The rest is history.
What makes you different from other guides?
More laid back than most. If someone misses or looses a fish no big deal. It’s another opportunity to learn the art. Besides, I’ve missed and lost a lot more than I can count myself.
