Fishing with Jay. Captain made a good decision to delay departure a little due to weather in the channel and then made sure that we got the full time once we were underway. He took us to catch our limit of kingfish, educated us a little about the large shark we caught and gave us options for what we wanted to target. Fist mate was very attentive to the lines, keeping the action going and helping us get things coordinated once we we back on shore. Comfortable vessel with a friendly and easygoing crew that catches fish! A very good experience for our group of occasional fishermen and I’m sure they’re capable of hosting a hardcore fishing group as well.

Have you ever wanted to go fishing with the Captain that knows the waters better than any other captain in the area and can put you on fish on the first cast? After my trip with Captain Lancaster there was no doubt that he is one of the best off shore anglers we have right here in South Texas. I am a local and I have been off shore fishing numerous times with many captains. Captain Lancasters expert piloting skills most certainly reflect the long life he has lived on the water. (Literally lived…ask him about the time he spent sailing for multiple years with his family) I also must mention that he and his deckhand could not be more polite and nice to everyone. They truly want to ensure that you have the best time possible and catch as much fish possible at the same time. Oh.. I cant forget to mention the roughly 50lbs of shrimp we were able to acquire directly from a commercial shrimp boat in the middle of the gulf and go home with. I’ll let Captain Lancaster show you how that’s done! Looking forward to my next trip on El Cucuy! -James Magill

Overall, this was one of the best off shore trips! Captain Jay and his son John are very skilled in their trade. The captain knew exactly where to go and what to do to get us some fish in the boat. I will say he is definitely thinking of the customer and has every intention to get everyone their limit for the day. If we were not catching fishing in a certain spot, he was moving to the next honey hole. Great time and great memories, we will be back next year!
