Captain George Pugh does it all as a Port Mansfield fishing guide. Anglers in the know come to Port Mansfield for its crystal clear, Laguna Madre waters, and its off-the-map reputation, or lack thereof. The water's clearer, the fish are bigger, and the crowds are nonexistent.
It's this unique environment that Captain George relishes in sharing. Having fished the local waters for over 30 years, Captain George decided to make a living of guiding Port Mansfield fishing charters following his career in commercial lending.
A patient and engaging teacher, Captain George loves teaching experienced and beginner anglers the sport. That being said, Captain George fishes explicitly with artificial lures and is happy to wade fish or drift from his 24' Shallow Sport center console. Originally built in 2014, the boat has a 4-person capacity and is powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine with a maximum cruising speed of 45 knots. It has all necessary safety equipment, including life jackets, fire extinguishers, and first aid, and also has a GPS and fish finder.
Papa G Charters will provide all rods, reels, tackle, lures, water and ice for your upcoming trip. Captain George will also clean and fillet your catch back at the marina, so make sure you bring a large cooler to get your fish home.
