About Your Guide

Captain Dillon of Flattie Daddy Guide Service has been fishing Rockport, Texas his whole life. He began running Rockport fishing charters in 2019 and is an up-and-coming-guide known for his knack for catching giant Flounder- the state record Flounder, measuring 34.5 inches and weighing 14.7 pounds, was gigged out of his boat!

Captain Dillon runs a classic 22’ Bay Stealth boat. There’s enough room for 4 anglers to fish at once, while also pushing shallow into skinny water. The boat is complete with safety gear and life jackets, so you and your group can fish with peace of mind.

Rockport offers fantastic year-round fishing targeting Flounder, Speckled Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Alligator Gar, Blacktip Sharks, and many more. If you opt to try out gigging, you’ll mainly be targeting Flounder, as well as Sheepshead and Black Drum.

Speaking of gigging, there’s a minimum age of 18 for all anglers aboard gigging trips. The bay trips are suitable for everyone, with no minimum age. All equipment is provided on every trip. When fishing using conventional techniques, you’ll be casting off with Penn and Shimano rods and reels.

Also included in your trip with Captain Dillon are snacks and drinks. You’ll have pre-wrapped sandwiches, candy, water, Gatorade, and soft drinks. Just bring sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, and a Texas Saltwater fishing license for each angler and you're all set!

Captain Dillon will have live bait (included for your trip) ready to go so more time is spent fishing. After the trip, Captain Dillon will also clean your catch for you.

Half day trip early March so wasn’t expecting much. Wife and I must have caught 20 fish each… 10 or so trout and 10 reds at least. Most too small but made it back with 3 keeper reds and an awesome morning of memories made. Captain Dillion was courteous, on time and had us on the water with a pole for the entire trip. He baited, casted, and gave us a bit of information about each site we fished at. We recommend Captain Dillion and plan on using his services again in the future!

If you want fish, go with Dillon. He put us on fish everywhere we stopped. Limited on reds, 4 nice trout, 2 flounder, and lost count of undersized fish. He had us in fish all day long! Dillon is very knowledgeable and showed us a great day. Can’t wait to fish with him again.
