This trip takes you 5 to 12 miles off the coast of Cancun, putting you right in the heart of the area's most productive fishing grounds. Depending on weather and sea conditions, you'll reach the fishing zone in about 45 minutes to an hour, giving you plenty of time to target big offshore species and soak up the open ocean vibes.

Captain Oscar—known by locals as "Mosquito"—comes from a proud family of fishermen and has earned a spot among the top 5 captains in Cancun. His experience, instincts, and passion for the sport are matched by his friendly crew, who are dedicated to making your day on the water smooth, fun, and successful.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 31’ Bertram, a proven offshore performer known for its reliability and comfort. This vessel is perfectly sized for groups of up to 4 guests, and comes fully equipped with GPS, fishfinder, livewell, outriggers and downriggers, a shaded area, a private cabin, bathroom, and an icebox to keep drinks cold. There’s even a sound system on board so you can enjoy some tunes while waiting on the next big bite.

Whether you’re a first-time angler or a seasoned offshore veteran, Captain Oscar will tailor the experience to your goals—whether that’s trolling for pelagics, dropping bait deep, or simply enjoying the ride.

Your trip includes:
- Fishing licenses
- Rods, reels, tackle, and bait
- Bottled water, sodas, and cold beers
- Ice and full crew service
- Round-trip transportation from your hotel to the dock (Cancun area)

All you need to bring is your snacks or lunch, sun protection, $7 USD per person dock fee, and some cash for tipping if you'd like to thank the crew for a job well done.

While departure times are flexible, an early start around 7 AM is recommended, as the morning bite is often the most productive. The boat departs from the Cancun Hotel Zone, making it a convenient and easy choice for anyone staying nearby.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
This trip is managed by an outfitter. Fernando will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.
Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
