Join Captain Sam for a 6-hour guided Lake Trout fishing trip on the clear waters of Grand Traverse Bay near Traverse City. These trips focus on targeting Lake Trout and Cisco, species that thrive in the deep, cold waters of Northern Michigan and are known for their strong fights and consistent presence in the bay.

Throughout the trip, you’ll use vertical jigging and casting techniques to work deep structure and productive areas where Lake Trout commonly feed. Captain Sam will guide you through the process—helping you dial in the right depth, presentation, and rhythm to target fish effectively. Whether you’re an experienced angler or brand new to fishing, the techniques are approachable and rewarding to learn.

You’ll spend the day exploring some of the well-known Lake Trout areas of Grand Traverse Bay, surrounded by the scenic shoreline and clear waters that make this region such a popular destination for anglers.

Your trip takes place aboard a 20’ Alumacraft (2072) powered by a 115 HP Yamaha engine. This stable and spacious boat comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests and provides a clean, reliable platform for fishing the bay.

All rods, reels, tackle, and gear are included with the trip, so you can simply show up ready to fish. Captain Sam will provide guidance throughout the day to help everyone feel comfortable with the equipment and techniques being used.

Before the trip, all anglers will need to purchase a valid Michigan fishing license through the Michigan DNR.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
