Fly fishing the Texas Coast doesn't get much better. Sight cast to tailing redfish from the bow while Captain Jeff poles your shallow water skiff across the crystal clear Coastal Bend waters. Anglers can also expect to catch Black Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout and more.
Captain Jeff grew up along the Yakima River in Central Washington. As an early fly fishing devotee, he made the customary pilgrimage to Bozeman, MT and felt compelled to stay a while. He honed his skills summer after summer fishing the Missouri and surrounding rivers for trophy Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout. After multiple vacations to saltwater, he dove in headfirst, expanding his guiding business to Rockport, hot on the tail of the next redfish.
On the water, Captain Jeff can best be described as a "Players' Coach". Relaxed and down-to-earth, Jeff loves jamming some tunes on the skiff as you glide the flats. That being said, he's 100% locked in and can spot a Redfish from a country mile- makes sense that he's sponsored by Smith Optics! Be prepared to have a great time, learn the Coastal Bend ecosystem, and drastically improve your casting skills.
Captain Jeff and the Fly Fish Rockport team fish over 100 miles of the Texas Coast, from Matagorda Bay and Port O'Connor, through San Antonio Bay, Copano Bay, Aransas Bay, and Corpus Christ Bay, all the way south to the Upper Laguna Madre.
Rest assured Fly Fish Rockport will provide all necessary gear, from rods and reels to flies and tippet.

Jeff, our guide on the trip, was excellent. It was obvious he knew the Texas coastal waters very well. Enjoyed the trip from beginning to end, and was able to land a huge fish in the process. Very thankful for how hospitable he was, and would definitely come back and fish again!
Excellent guide service and Jeff was a great guide. Weather was less than favorable but Jeff still got us on fish. When the fishing gets tough it’s great to have a guide that you know is working his butt off to get you on fish but such is life the fish don’t always cooperate and we still caught fish. I would highly recommend a trip with Jeff and Fly Fish Rockport!
I booked a fly fishing trip with Jeff as a Christmas gift for my son and we had a great time! Jeff is very knowledgeable and personable! My son caught a monster sized fish and said it was the best sea water fishing he had ever done. We hope to do it again!
