About Your Trip

Offshore Excursion with Captain Justin – Chase Giants Beyond the Beach

Head out past the jetties with Captain Justin for a thrilling offshore expedition targeting some of the biggest, baddest fish the Gulf has to offer. Departing from Longboat Key, this trip puts you right in the heart of action-packed waters teeming with hard-hitting predators and prized bottom species.

In the warm months, the main event is the Tarpon run—and it's nothing short of epic.
These silver giants cruise just off the beaches from May through August, and when one eats your bait, hold on! With fish averaging 75–100 lbs and known for breathtaking leaps, Tarpon offer a heart-racing fight like no other.

Spring and fall bring in waves of King Mackerel, also known as “Kingfish,” famous for blistering drag-screaming runs. Bigger specimens—nicknamed “King Smokers”—can peel off hundreds of yards of line in seconds. You might also spot a Cobia cruising the surface or lurking over wrecks, offering an aggressive fight and high-end table fare.

Looking to drop down? The Gulf’s offshore structure is loaded with Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Permit, and Mangrove Snapper. Grouper fishing is a local favorite for good reason—these tasty bruisers are a blast to pull off the bottom. Permit offer a slick challenge on wrecks and reefs, while Gray Snapper keep the rods bent and the cooler full.

If you want something wild, keep an eye out for Great Barracuda, Sharks, and even Little Tunny ripping through bait schools. With Captain Justin’s expertise and fully equipped 24’ Center Console, you’ll be ready for anything.

All the essentials are provided—ice-cold water, sunblock, bait, tackle, and licenses—so you can focus on fishing. Just bring along your own food, a camera, and a cooler if you want to take your catch home. Whether you’re out to tangle with a trophy Tarpon or fill the cooler with Grouper, this offshore trip delivers the Gulf Coast adventure you’ve been dreaming of.
