There’s nothing like a hot Striper bite, and Captain Dexter is here to put you right on top of it! This 6-hour Striped Bass trip is all about chasing one of the Northeast’s most iconic game fish during its peak seasons — in the spring and again from October through December — when big schools move through the New Jersey coastline and the action heats up.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to targeting Stripers, Captain Dexter will guide you through the best techniques for the season and conditions, from trolling and live-lining to casting plugs or jigging around structure. Stripers are aggressive, hard-fighting, and a blast to catch — and when they’re biting, it’s pure adrenaline from start to finish.

This trip is ideal for small groups of 1 to 6 anglers looking for a focused, flexible fishing experience. Captain Dexter usually runs only one trip per day, which means you’ll have a relaxed schedule and the captain’s full attention from start to finish. Start times are flexible and will be coordinated with you ahead of time — so whether it’s an early morning push or a tide-driven afternoon bite, you’ll be fishing when the conditions are just right.

All rods, reels, and tackle are provided, but if you’ve got a lucky rod or your own setup, feel free to bring it along. As always, Captain Dexter’s boat is fully rigged and ready to go — all you need is your food and drinks (no glass containers, please!) and your free New Jersey Saltwater Registry license.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
