There’s nothing quite like a red-hot tuna bite, and this full-day, 12-hour midshore trip with Captain Dexter is your ticket to the action! Running from June through November, these trips will take you up to 75 miles offshore to chase down hard-charging Yellowfin, Bluefin, and more using a mix of trolling, chunking, and jigging — whatever it takes to stay on the fish.

Depending on the conditions and where the bite is hottest, you’ll typically run between 15 and 50 miles to reach productive midshore grounds. Captain Dexter is always dialed in to the latest reports and will work hard to put you in the zone. Have a favorite technique? Just let him know and he’ll tailor the approach to match your style — whether that’s ripping jigs, setting a spread, or chunking for a drift bite.

You’ll be fishing aboard a sleek 36’ Contender Fisharound, fully equipped with twin engines, a spacious cockpit, air-conditioned cabin, and a full bathroom — everything you need for a high-performance day offshore. There’s room for up to 6 passengers, though 5 anglers are recommended to give everyone plenty of space at the rail when the action heats up.

All gear, bait, and tackle are provided, and Captain Dexter runs top-of-the-line setups for every technique. From stout trolling rods to lighter jigging gear, everything is rigged and ready for battle. Bring a cooler for your catch — tuna are not only a blast to catch, but also some of the finest eating fish in the ocean.

Start times generally begin around 4:00 AM, but be sure to check with Captain Dexter prior to your trip. He’ll adjust departure as needed based on weather, tides, and fishing intel to give you the best chance at a successful day.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
