About Your Trip

If you’ve never been to Delray Beach before, you’re missing out. These productive waters are home to some spectacular Peacock bass, Largemouth Bass, Peacock Bass, Clown Knifefish, and Hybrid Striped Bass. No matter if it’s your first time on the water or if you’re an experienced angler, Johnny will lead the way!

You’ll be fishing aboard Johnny’s 22-foot bay boat equipped with a 250 HP Yamaha engine, a GPS, fishfinder, live bait well, wireless trolling motor, and an ice box. This boat can accommodate 4 anglers. Johnny likes to use a variety of techniques, including light tackle and spinning. If you would like to fly fish, let Johnny know before the trip.

Make sure you bring a valid Florida freshwater fishing license, some food and drinks for the day, sunscreen, and a hat. Johnny will take care of all rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait if it’s available in season. If you want to fly fish, Johnny will provide the equipment, but feel free to bring your own.

Captain Johnny provides top quality rods, reels, and tackle, and live bait.

In addition to Peacock Bass and Clown Knife Fish, anglers can also expect to catch Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, Jack Alligator Gar, Ladyfish, and Midas Cichlid while fly fishing or fishing with conventional light tackle.

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
