About Your Trip

Launch aboard Captain TJ's fully decked out 26' Mako for an epic and productive trolling adventure off the coast of Charleston SC. Captain TJ will put all of his knowledge of fish habits, sea trends, and weather patterns toward getting you on the fish safely and in style!

After you get settled in, and Captain TJ starts up his 200 Suzuki, you will motor out a couple miles offshore to the fishing grounds. Thes trolling trips are great because the boat and the knowledge of your captain do the "boring" part for you. Captain TJ will drop the throttle down to a couple knots and start surveying the horizon for birds and grass lines. The grass lines can provide structure for pelagics to congregate around and birds are usually an indicator of bait on the surface! You're welcome to help TJ scout, but you more than welcome to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sweet sea breeze while you wait for the reel to start screaming!

These trips can be extremely productive as well. If you get into a pod of Wahoo, King Mackerel, or Mahi, Captain TJ will just keep circling back to catch more and more, until you've caught your limit or your arms get too tired. Wahoo, King Mackerel, and Mahi Mahi, are just a couple of the potential species you could catch while you're out there, and there are plenty more species the productive waters of the Atlantic can offer up!

Beyond superior service and luxurious amenities, Captain TJ also provides the best rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing licenses you could possibly need for a successful day out on the water. TJ recommends you bring your favorite lunch, snack, and drink items, your sun protection, maybe a towel, and some good company! Otherwise, Captain TJ will take care of the rest to make sure you fill the box on your next Charleston Offshore Trolling adventure!

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
