About Your Trip

If you are looking for an all-around fishing adventure out of Gulf Shores, AL, it doesn't get much better than a 12-hour trip with Captain Jerry! On this charter, you'll get out over deep water where you can troll and bottomfish, covering the entire water column and targeting both topwater predators and bunkers on the reefs.

Once you get past the inshore water and out over the depths, you'll start trolling for pelagic sportfish such as Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Sailfish. These fish are incredible fighters, with powerful runs and acrobatic jumps that will test even experienced anglers. Plus, these species are delicious on the grill, in fish tacos or ceviche, or even raw as sashimi!

Once you get out over the offshore reefs and structure, you'll also be able to drop your lines deep to target Gag and Black Grouper. Many captains would agree that these species are some of the tastiest fish in the Gulf, so make sure to keep a few for dinner.

On this trip, you'll be aboard Captain Jerry's beautiful 35' Cabo Express sportfisher. She's built to be fast and comfortable, with a cruising speed of 29 MPH, a full restroom, plenty of seating, satellite radio, and an air conditioned cabin. For folks that want to spend a full day on the water, she's the perfect choice, with room to escape from the summer sun and heat and a large fishing deck for when the bites are on. She's powered by two Caterpillar engines with a combined 1000 horsepower, and has all the top gear and electronics to maximize your chances of success.

When you fish with Captain Jerry, everything is provided for you, including rods, reels, bait, tackle, ice for your keepers, and drinks to keep you going. All you need to bring is sunscreen (no spray please!), proper clothing, a cooler, and some snacks!

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Jerry will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

The deposit for this trip is non-refundable (but if the weather is too bad to go out, you will still receive a credit back to your account).

If the weather doesn’t cooperate you’ll be covered by our 100% weather guarantee and you won’t lose your deposit.

Jerry and his sidekick were incredible. We haven’t been fishing for the past 10 years or so, and they showed us the ropes again. Weather was great and our catch was nice considering the fact that I got seasick. Not because of them. I’d recommend again!!!

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.

Once you book the trip, we will connect you directly with the guide to go over any additional details. In the meantime, our team is always available to answer your questions via email, text, chat, or call!
