About Your Trip

Climb aboard with Captain Mike for an epic half, 3/4, or full-day experience off the coast of the beautiful Florida Keys! Whether you want to spend a half day near-shore, spend some extra time to go off-shore, or even do a little of both, this luxurious 63' custom built sportfisher will meet all your needs.

Trolling the open waters can produce hard fighting species like Amberjacks, Sailfish and Mahi. Trolling trips are great because the
boat and the knowledge of your captain take care of half the work for you. You get to sit back, relax, enjoy the sweet sea breeze, and rest your arms while you wait for the reel to start screaming and your work to begin!

Bottom fishing changes the target species to an entirely different set of fish. You can expect delicious and hard-fighting reef species like Snapper, Grouper and Amberjacks!

Captain Mike will provide all the fishing gear you need to catch some picture-worthy fish. All that’s left to do is bring some food, drinks and sunscreen, and cast off with Captain Mike!

Captain Mike is out to ensure that every day spent on the water is the most fun it can possibly be.

Before every trip, Captain Mike connects with his groups to understand their skill levels and expectations, and creates a personalized plan for an unforgettable day on the water.

Captain Mike fished the original Jack Tar in tournaments from the Cape May White Marlin Open to the top Maryland and North Carolina tournaments. Captain Mike moved to Key West Florida
in 1990 and became a full time Key West fishing guide.

Besides running charters in Key West, Captain Mike also fishes the top tournaments in the Key West fishing region including the Bahamas, Cuba, Mexico, and all of the Florida keys.

Captain Mike once owned the Jack Tar 2 sport fishing charter boat which is a 52' Buddy Cannady Custom Carolina. Now as a Key West fishing guide, Captain Mike specializes in Key West light tackle fishing with a 37' SeaHunter center console. Captain Mike has been fishing in Key West for over 20 years now and has become one of the foremost experts in local fish habits and tendencies making him one of the most requested Key West fishing guides.

Captain Mike fishes the Key West reefs, wrecks, offshore, and inshore waters including the Key West Harbor which is inshore. His qualifications in these areas are above reproach and for Key West fishing there aren't many as knowledgeable as Captain Mike.

But there is something else you should know about Captain Mike. Besides his fishing skills he is also just an all around great guy. He works well with the anglers and customers on his boat. Whether you are a seasoned Key West angler or a novice just enjoying a vacation in the Keys Captain Mike will take the time to help. If you feel you don't know something just ask Captain Mike as he has the patience for the job. Patience to work with his clients, patience to find the fish, and the all around good nature to make your Key West fishing trip an enjoyable one that you will remember for a long time. Oh and you will catch fish too!

Mike and Cole were fantastic. We had four small kids with us, and they handled them perfectly. We caught lots of yellowtail snapper and a nurse shark! 10/10, would book again (and plan to).

Once you book the trip, we will connect you directly with the guide to go over any additional details. In the meantime, our team is always available to answer your questions via email, text, chat, or call!
