trip description for Full Day private fishing charter in Key West

Catch More fish! A full day allows us more time to go further, try more techniques, target more species, and ultimately catch more fish. A full day usually leaves the dock around 7:30 a.m. and returns around 3:30 p.m. However, these times may vary depending on the time of year, conditions, and customer preference. His vessel, a 28' center console (built by Latitude Tournament Boats), is a true "hybrid" fishing machine. This means that on a nice day, you can comfortably fish offshore reefs, wrecks, and Gulfstream currents. You also have the option to fish backcountry channels, inshore wrecks, and nearshore patch reefs if the wind picks up. On a full day, we might have the opportunity to target multiple species both in the deep and the shallow. Captain John specializes in light tackle fishing. This means he'll match the rod and reel outfit to the size fish you're targeting to make for the best overall angling experience. If you would like to fly fish, the captain can accommodate you. However, you must bring your own fly fishing equipment. Expect to target Amberjack, Barracuda, Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, and more, depending on the length of your trip. Evening Tarpon trips are also offered. Live bait makes a big difference. Pilchards, pinfish, herring, ballyhoo, and blue crabs are some of the varieties you are likely to find in the livewell. Catching bait is part of the charter, and while it may take some extra time, your captain knows it makes the difference between a fantastic fishing trip and one that's just okay. Your fishing license is included. Bring sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, a hat, snacks, and drinks. Book your trip and hit the water today! Read More

Hop on board with Captain Bob and get ready for an action-packed day of fishing the flats! The Florida Key flats are some of the best spots for Tarpon fishing in the world, and the clear waters are great for fly fishing! On this 4-hour trip, Captain Bob will take you to the Summerland Key inshores where you'll be fly-fishing for Tarpon. Captain Bob has been guiding trips in the Florida Keys for over 20 years now, so get ready for him to put you on some fish! To attract these picture-worthy Tarpon you'll be using a fly rod to cast exactly where the fish are swimming. Captain Bob is happy to demonstrate proper fundamentals for this technique to newcomers, or to provide experienced fly fishers with some expert tips! Tarpons have become the most sought-after game fish in the Florida Keys, April through July, being the prime season. Whether you’re using rod and reel or fly fishing, these sometimes 100 plus pound fish love to fight hard. Tides, weather, and moon phases play an essential factor in a Tarpon’s behavior, but these kings are always hungry, biting on both live and artificial bait. Bring your camera because catching a tarpon is a stunning experience that you will want to capture. These fascinating sport fish are catch and release. It only takes one battle with these prehistoric creatures to become completely mesmerized, and you’ll be longing to catch more! Captain Bob fishes aboard a 18' Action Craft skiff boat, equipped with a Fishfinder, Live Bait Well, Wireless Trolling Motor, and an Ice Box to store your catches. The 150 HP Yamaha engine is sure to get you where you need to be in the Summerland Key inshores. Captain Bob will provide all rods, reels, and tackle. All you need to bring is any food or drinks you might need out on the water. Come aboard with Captain Bob and catch some fish! Read More

trip description for Marquesas Atoll Light Tackle in Key West

The Marquesas Keys are legendary as a world class light tackle fishing destination. Located approximately 30 miles west of Key West just beyond the Boca Grande Channel, the Marquesas Keys are 36 miles east of the Dry Tortugas, which is the farthest key traveling west, in the entire Florida Keys chain. This atoll is hard to get to and gets a lot less fishing pressure. The sublime nature is a fantastic habitat for all types of inshore and flats dwelling species like Tarpon in the summer months, Baracuda in the winter months, Grouper in Bonefish and Permit year round! There are tons of other species as well, and you could easily see Jacks, SSharks, Snapper, Cobia, Ladyfish, Bluefish, and Redfish. Given the remoteness of the island, weather can play a huge roll in whether or not it is safe to make the voyage. So watch the radar, and if seas do not permit the journey, Captain Chandler will be more than happy to chase the fish with you inshore around Key West! The Captain will bring everything you need for this trip from gear to lunch! So all you need to bring with you is a tip for your guide and Captain Chandler will take great care of you. Read More
