trip description for Overnight Offshore - 38' Luhrs in Freeport

Get ready for an epic 24-hour Offshore adventure with Captains JT and Danny chasing the big boys like Marlin, Tile Fish, Grouper, and Tuna! You will launch from Freeport around 10 am aboard their one-of-a-kind sport fisher for a luxury seafaring experience. At 38 feet long and almost 14 feet wide, the vessel offers lots of shaded space, two AC systems, satellite TV and music, and a legendary hull design. Needless to say, you will be much more comfortable than on most other boats. It’s equipped with state-of-the-art electronics, safety equipment including a satellite phone, epirb, and 8 man life raft. The beautiful vessel is powered by twin 420 horsepower Yanmar diesel engines that are meticulously maintained by Captain JT. After Captain JT has cranked up the engines, you'll motor offshore a ways to spend the day bottom fishing for Grouper, Golden tile, Amberjack and whatever else emerges from the blue depths! When the bite slows down toward the afternoon, Captains JT and Danny will haul in the lines, and motor out a little deeper to the 80-110 mile range. While you get some much-needed R&R, they will get the boat into position for the Tuna bite early the next morning. The Tuna bite is usually on a couple of hours before sunrise, so after a couple of hours of sleep, you'll wake up around 4 am to start jigging for Tuna! This is one of the only times slots when big tuna come up from the deep to feed and they are usually swimming back down to deeper water by the time the sun comes up. So you'll jig until that sun comes up then troll around in the rest of the morning before you motor back in! In terms of gear, we will come fully equipped with all the premium bottom fishing rods and reels, Penn international bent butt trolling rod and reels, and two heavy-duty electric reels for deep dropping down 350+ feet. The navigation system has more than 3000 waypoints saved over the years so they can pinpoint these feeding grounds easily as well! Read More

Inshore fishing Surfside Beach

If you've fished Texas you know what to expect here: big speckled trout, schooling redfish, and lots of flounder. With some luck, you might even find some tarpon in the surf. Dean was an awesome guide. He provided everything we needed to make this trip one heck of an experience. We caught plenty of fish at a nice size and really enjoyed pulling them in. My son (13) caught the biggest one Lol you should've seen the smile on his face. It was PRICELESS! :) We caught drum and trout that day. I have to say we a had a Damn good time! We will be back for sure! Catching good fish like that was a Blast! Good eating and too easy to catch. Dean put us right on the fish. Oh yea and did I mention Dean also filleted all the fish for us and zip locked it. We got back to the house heated up two pots of cooking oil made ourselves a seasoned batter and dropped that Fresh filleted fish in one of the Hot pots of oil and then dropped some french fries out the bag in the other. Let me tell you, we had ourselves a fish fry that day Jack! Big Shout to Dean AWESOME GUY and GUIDE!!

I had a great trip with Captain Colin sight fishing for redfish in the Galveston Bay. While the fishing was slow and water conditions were not ideal (we only saw 3 fish), Captain Colin made the experience enjoyable. This was my first experience sight fishing for redfish, and Captain Colin was a good instructor teaching me the techniques and the biology of the fishery. Overall, a great experience.

Robert J. with Collin S. of Galveston, Texas

Capt Colin was really really patient with us and took us to where the fish was. Amazing!!!

Capt Collin is an excellent guide, knows the water, likely hot spots and, although not a novice with a fly rod, is probably very patient and willing to teach. Equipment well maintained and organized. I highly recommend Collin.

Colin worked hard in poor conditions with a red tide running most of the fish out. Finally hooked up late in the day.

My boys had a great time fishing. Thank you Captain Rodney!

Christina . with Rodney C. of Freeport, Texas

  • ★★★★★
We had an amazing time. Rodney and Ethan were not only very helpful and professional, they were friendly and made the trip enjoyable. When the fish we were catching were too small to keep Rodney took us to another spot where we caught larger fish and 3 sharks! I cannot wait to come back. Maybe this will be a yearly trip for us from now on. Great Captain and First Mate.

Tanesha M. with Rodney C. of Freeport, Texas

  • ★★★★★
The guide was not inviting. He never introduced himself and had no concern for our well being. We had two guests who were sea sick and he never showed any concern. While he did finally agree to bring them back to shore, his lack of respect for us as customers and human beings was not professional.

Dustin P. with Rodney H. of Freeport, Texas

  • ★★★★★
We had an awesome trip! The weather and the seas were perfect. Captain Rodney and crew put us right on the fish and they were extremely accommodating plus they were on the spot getting fish in the boat and re-baiting hooks. Will book again!!!

Great guide! We caught lots of fish! We had a wonderful time! Definitely recommend!

Christopher R. with Dean M. of Galveston, Texas

Captain Collin was awesome. Pre-trip communication was timely and informative setting the stage for a successful day. From the moment we met, I could tell that this wasn’t going to be 8 hours with a stranger, but more like a friend I hadn’t met yet. As for the fish, he put us in the right spot multiple times and never stopped searching leading to a late trip score. I would highly recommend Captain Collin as a guide and will absolutely be back out with him again.

Dennis D. with Collin S. of Galveston, Texas

Had a great time me and the guys really enjoyed the trip!...
