Have you ever experienced flounder gigging like a fisherman from ages past? Do you want to experience the thrills of lining up a gig and catching your very own flounder? Then you'll be happy to know that Captain Joe offers Flounder Gigging Trips for both experienced and first-time fishermen.

You'll be outfitted with your very own gig and will be taught everything you need to
know about this amazing fishing experience. Whether you want to set out morning, noon, or night, Captain Joe guarantees that you'll have an unforgettable fishing experience gigging the Coastal Bend.

His boat is one of the biggest and safest flounder rigs out there at 26 feet long and 100 inches wide, it gets shallow and runs smooth, underwater as well as above LED lights light up the water. His trips are for up to 4 guests and children must be 14 years old or older to actively gig. Younger children are considered ride alongs and cannot gig.

Captain Joe supplies all the equipment for gigging flounder. If you’re planning on bringing your own equipment, please tell the captain first. He will also clean and bag your fish for your trip home, so keep an ice chest in the car for your trip home!

Captain Joe recommends close toed shoes to keep your toes protected, a can of bug spray, snacks, drinks, and small ice chest. He always like to rremind his guest to wear proper clothing as fall and winter gigging can be quite chilly or cold.

Generally, flounder his flounder gigging trips depart from two locations:

* Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass

* Near the Ferry Landing in Port Aransas

GPS and cell phones are always on-board! Passenger safety is always priority one aboard any of Captain Joe's trips.

Captain Joe wass born in Corpus Christi where he spent his summers fishing with his grandparents in and around Port Aransas. He started commercial fishing for flounder, drum and sheepshead in the mid-1990s, working in a fish house cutting and delivering fish shrimp crabs and the like to restaurants throughout the coastal bend. Now, he is a full-time flounder guide who knows the waters, habits, and migration patterns of flounder very well. You can find him out on the water catching fish every month of the year except November which is closed from gigging.

As a Coastal Bend native Captain Joe has fished every bay in the area, and knows the bay system extremely well. This is extremely crucial to his line of work since the best gigging takes place at night when visibilty is low. His intimate relationship with the bays and flats he fishes garuntees you'll have a safe and fun adventure out on the water! With over 20 years of experiences running guided Gigging trips in the Corpus Chisti area, Captain Joe knows how to get in the middle of the action!
