We've been doing good on the bottom fishing. As our bait situation gets better we will start to poke around for some game fish halibut and yellowtail. Our last outting amounted to limiting out on reds and almost lings. But it was a multi species day with catches that doesn't come up often. Cabezon, Sheephead, Treefish, and Olive rockfish to name a few.

Focusing on what's been hitting, rockfish. Big reds and Lings. Water temp is still low at 59. Been poking around for some Halibut but mostly shorts.

Since the Halibut is trending here, we went on an exploratory trip and it paid off! Congrats to my neighbor Clint, with his PB 36lb and long time friend and X co-worker Zack’s very first 14lb’r Haliz! We farmed a few and let them take our hardy baits. All fun first in the morning. One last good ‘ol friend Kai took home a bunch of reds, rockfish, sandbass, calico, and few others. One for the books for sure! Salt Life gear keep us warm and dry throughout the carnage. Another day, another fishing trip filled with epic catches and waterlogged memories. Miguel hooked a massive halibut that weighed in at a whopping 27 pounds, but unfortunately, it didn't break any records. It probably felt like the second-place finisher at the Olympics, basking in the glory of its silver medal but secretly wishing for gold.
But that's not even the best part! One of our crew members, Miguel again (he's on fire!), caught a Starry rockfish that was a contender for a record weight. It was so close, it could probably smell the record's breath. But alas, it fell short...

100lb Black Sea bass caught on a bass rod. Various rockfish and one ling. The boat now sports AIS transceiver and benefits safety and awareness for us for commercial traffic. Plush bean bags for the creature comforts!
