I prefer eagle claw Style 85, they are good and sharp right out of the package and cheap, easy enough to cut off and retire. Moose has a very respectable fish

Jigheads are the best, I prefer soft plastics like the saltwater assassin, as far as color I can't nail one down. Shrimp also work well, 1/4 Jighead moved painfully slow. Trout are on fire. Edges of holes,channels edges and any place where the water temperatures are stable. It is hard to beat your favorite soft plastics on a jig head. If the bite slows add a popping cork.

So the bite is on fire, the places are deeper holes and channel edges with decent flow. My favorite baits this time of year are soft plastics on a jighead or shrimp on a jighead. We have plenty of dates available, if weather permits red snapper are in fairly close.
