Fishing had been hot up to that hurricane we to west of us. We had a ton of rain and rough seas which really dirtied up the Gulf and bite was pretty tough. Last two days seem to be trending in our favor. Been booking and running trips everyday and into November. Snappers open Fri Sat Sun thru Thanksgiving. I've got the big Sows located and they are hungry!!

It's been rough this week but I've been shuffling trips and running what I can. Bookings are slowing down this month after a fire June/July. Fishing is great mahis have been all over had a sailfish hooked 2 weeks ago up in close 1/2 mile off beach and have heard of quite of few being caught. Sept 1 - 15 gag groupers will be open so those weekend days red snappers and Gags are open at same time. Recipe for banner trips

The wind is stIll howling. My crew from Chicago caught a bunch of speckled trout. Only got a couple keepers in the boat and lost a couple really nice ones. It looks like the Trout bite is coming in now. The water temp is up to 70 so the fish...

I want to be honest in this review. we had booked a trip with Mike, and was informed a day before the trip that it would not be with Mike, but it would be with another captain. the trip was fine. it wasnt great. it wasnt bad. we had nearly a half hour boat ride to get to the spot he wanted to fish and a half hour boat ride to get back. so right there we lost 25% of our time to fish, only leaving 3 hours. we did not fish any other spots. stayed in one place. we caught about a half a dozen fish that we could keep and clean. there were 6 of us total. 3 dads and 3 boys. the price before any type of tip was $875. Naturally we left a tip bringing the total to $1000. it was a fine trip, but unfortunately, i have to say it was not worth $1000 to fish for three hours off of the Jetty's at shell island. We had a decent time, but it was a little under-whelming.
