Maine Fishing Reports (July 2026)

Cold temperatures have gifted us an early start to the hard-water season here in Maine. I’ve been fishing through the ice for about three weeks now, focusing mostly on smaller ponds that locked up first. My clients and I have had some great days jigging crappie, along with steady action from pickerel, largemouth bass, and brook trout. With January 1st marking our traditional opener, many of the larger lakes should be ready to go, opening up opportunities for trout, salmon, and pike. Water temps have been dropping and the fish are loving it. The inshore fishing has been fantastic catching trout, snook, redfish and more!
