Spring chinook have started to show up in the local rivers around Portland. Targeting them with trolling tactics has begun to work well. A herring behind a flasher works well. Fishing will continue to improve for these amazing fish over the next few weeks and coming months.

My home rivers are closed now for the rest of winter steelhead season. They will open Memorial Day weekend for summer steelhead. I am transitioning to the Cowlitz river in my my jet sled with room for up to 4 fishermen, and the Kalama river in my driftboat with room for 2. I've been intermittently fishing the Kalama river over the last few weeks with average to good fishing. I will be fishing these rivers till mid- late March. Then I'll be fishing the lower Columbia River near Longview Washington for the famed Spring Chinook through the lower river closure...

We were given a one day keeper sturgeon on February 16th. Had a great crew out and they will be going home with some sturgeon. I'm not sure when or if we will get another keeper day this year. But we can always catch and release these fun hard fighting fish.

Coastal success recently chinook and coho fishing. Fishing continues to remain steady and should through the remainder of the month. With rainfall the fish will move up river and we will potentially change techniques but should still see some good fishing.

Our guidance captain Ken was excellent! Fishing with him everything was relaxing, calm and kicked back enjoyable. Boat was clean and all the gear was wonderful shape. He is a great guide highly recommended. Thanks for everything Ken, we really appreciate it.
Ken is amazing! He got us on fish and we had a great time! Ken knows how to fish the Columbia and the Willamette. I will definitely be chartering with him again!
He taught my son how to filet the fish we caught and my son loved it!
My son had the best 18th birthday!
This was our 2nd time using Wade. He is a wonderful guide and got us on the sturgeon. Our group had an amazing time and we can't wait to book our next trip with Captain Wade!
My dad and I took an 8 hour guided trip on the Willamette. Ken is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and prepared. His equipment is all impressive and well maintained, he carefully explained safety procedures, he also happily shared a lot of valuable information with us about future fishing endeavors.
We caught a 20 inch “15 lb” silver salmon.
We will definitely book another trip with him, likely for springers!
Excellent trip!
Wade was very accommodating. Changed his schedule to fit the needs of the group. Very clear on communication prior to trip.
During trip, Wade kept our safety, comfort, and enjoyment a priority. Very knowledgeable, great hang on the water. Would recommend to a friend, would repeat book.
