This past week the juvenile Tarpon has been eating more aggressive than the Big Tarpon. The month of August to Dec usually are raining month wish are good for Tarpon fishing.

Tarpon and snook action has been steady on high tides and at night during big moon days. We expect it to stay active until September. In the big game waters yellowfin tuna is a secure catch and blue marlin have been slow but they are giants (500 lbs +). As female blue marlin are already in our waters September and October promises a steady 3-5 fish per day fish ranging between 300-600 lbs.

We were originally booked for a 6-hour deep sea fishing trip with Juan Carlos; however, the weather was a bit too rough, so our 6-hour was changed to a 4-hour reef fishing experience. Despite the change, Captain Juan helped us to provide memories that will last us a lifetime. He took us to many great fishing areas, where my 15 year old son caught a 5-foot barracuda, a huge mackerel and a giant tarpon. Needless to say, my son had the time of his life. Thank you Captain Juan for the great day! We'll be booking again when we return to Puerto Rico!

We went out with Shag as our captain and his dog Marley. We were the first to the best spot and Shag never stopped working - chumming, resetting lines et al. I went with two buddies and all three of us landed big tarpin. He offered us soda, water etc too. Had great jokes and easy conversation. I would go back out with Shag in a minute and can't recommend him enough.

Both of us were experienced fishermen but never deep ocean fishing in PR. We loved everything about Juan. From his extremely brief but prompt texts to his absolutely no nonsense attitude but friendly response to every question. He expressed his confidence halfway through the day because we had no bites and the sun was not out. It was obvious he knew something we didn’t. Then we caught our first ever mahi-mahi. Shortly after that we caught our first ever marlin and we were both in heaven. It was like the greatest ever fishing trip after two fish.
