El Capitan Reservoir Weather Forecast
Fishing reports straight from our guides in El Capitan Reservoir
The local inshore fishing has been excellent this last week with Halibut to 28 pounds. Lots of sharks (Leopards to 46 pounds) lots of guitar fish and Spotted Bay Bass and big Sand Bass. Off shore the Bluefin on overnight and especially 1.5 day trips has been good for 100 pound plus units. Lots of kelps holding 8-12 pound Yellowtail as well. Witchy Woman is our 40 knot vessel which can get to those big bluefin on 10-12 hr trips.

Ian here!!! So we got in to the Bluefin this last week before the bite slowed down. Had a few hookups on the Nomad MadMacs 200g Silver Pink stripe. Had a double hook up on yellowtail trolling by a kelp patty that turned in to a pretty good drift for some yellows which was super fun. The weather came up a bit so we plan to get back in to it this following week.

Halibut Spawn is going good and is quality. Bluefin have just shown up at 50-60 miles! Lots of limits.

Some nice grade Halibut starting to move in for the spring spawn. Lots of Bass, Sharks Leopard Smooth Hound and Guitar Fish.

Fishing continues to be hot for Darado, Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna in full Day and overnight range. It's coming in waves as the warm water pockets move up from the storms off Cabo. When the wind lays down for a day or more we should have some really solid counts still. We had 5 Dorado and 3 Yellowfin Tuna on the last trip and Limits of Dorado previously this week.
