Fishing reports straight from our guides in Jacksonville Beach
Over the last several weeks we have seen an awesome bite of Sheepshead and Redfish. There have been a lot of upperslot redfish in the 24-27 inch range too. The sheepshead fishing has been steady near the inlets in our area with a wide variety in sizes. Our baits of choice lately have been fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and live Shrimp. Hooked up on my old school sliding float rig at 12 ft. With live shrimp. Fishing around docks in a lot of current. We've gotten to the boat before, but all four were lost, probably 15 to 20 lb redfish. We ended up leaving there with a bunch of small Mangrove snappers that we didn't keep.

Bull Reds The bull reds are fired up! We’re seeing big bruisers crushing bait around the deep holes and channel edges. Live mullet and cut bait have been the ticket. Bring the heavy gear—these giants aren’t playing around. Now’s the time to battle a beast! 💪🎣🔥

Sheepshead have started to show-- finally. Mostly in the river. Jetties is hit and miss. Some good speckled trout catches on live shrimp. Bonus bull reds while float rig fishing and Sheepshead fishing.

With warming water temperatures and steady tides, the redfish are in full feeding mode. Early mornings have been prime for topwater action, with Reds crushing Zara Spooks and MirrOlure Top Dogs over shallow flats. As the sun gets higher, we’ve been switching to paddle tails in gold, root beer, and new penny, rigged on 1/8 to 1/4 oz jigheads for sight-casting fish cruising the oyster bars and creek mouths.

The big black seabass bite has been very good for the month of February! A few good triggerfish and vermilion snapper have been caught too! Consistent when the wind lays down and we can get out!
