With warming water temperatures and steady tides, the redfish are in full feeding mode. Early mornings have been prime for topwater action, with Reds crushing Zara Spooks and MirrOlure Top Dogs over shallow flats. As the sun gets higher, we’ve been switching to paddle tails in gold, root beer, and new penny, rigged on 1/8 to 1/4 oz jigheads for sight-casting fish cruising the oyster bars and creek mouths.

The big black seabass bite has been very good for the month of February! A few good triggerfish and vermilion snapper have been caught too! Consistent when the wind lays down and we can get out!

Inshore bite has been patchy but Game On has still been catching lots of whiting and yellowmouth trout. Plenty of other species like finetooth sharks and rays have been adding excitement. Tightlines!

Tannic Water Adventures have reported successful sight fishing for redfish, especially during flood tides in grassy areas and low tides around mud flats. The cooler water clarity enhances visibility, making a stealthy approach and the use of finesse presentations, such as soft plastics or live shrimp, particularly effective. As waters continue to warm, redfish are expected to gravitate towards deeper structures and docks. In addition to redfish, other species like black drum, sheepshead, and speckled trout are actively biting. Anglers targeting the jetties with fiddler crabs and live shrimp have reported catching keeper-sized sheepshead, with some individuals weighing up to...

As February rolls in, the warming trend is beginning to take effect in Jacksonville, pushing water temperatures up and signaling transitions in fish behavior. With air temperatures creeping into the low 80s°F, anglers should expect an uptick in activity across inshore, nearshore, and offshore waters. Inshore Fishing Redfish – Sight fishing for redfish remains strong, especially on the flood tides in the grass and during the low tide around mud flats. With the water clearing up due to cooler temperatures, a stealthy approach and finesse presentations (like soft plastics or live shrimp) are key. As the water warms, expect more...

Speckled Trout and Redfish have been really good over the last few weeks. The drop in water temperature has turned them on. Live shrimp under float rigs and artificials are both effective.

I cannot recommend Captain Dan highly enough. We booked him to take us out on the water to spread my mom and dad's ashes, and he made a very emotional day so much easier. He had absolutely everything we needed ready to go. His communication was outstanding leading up to the trip, during the day, and even checking in afterward. He took incredibly good care of our family and provided amazing support throughout the entire experience. To top it all off, he took some fantastic photos that we will cherish forever. Thank you, Captain Dan, for your professionalism and kindness!

Trip: Spreading Ashes In Saint Augstine

We had a wonderful trip with Captain Dan to lay my mother’s ashes to rest. Dan was very respectful, explained exactly what would happen and made sure the experience would be a beautiful memory for us. I’ll never forget the sight of the flower petals on the water and the dolphins in the background. Dan worked with our schedule to find a new time when the weather didn’t cooperate on our original date. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Thank you Dan!
