The water temperatures went from 49.2 to 62 degrees in the span of a week. The fish are very scattered, almost all the shrimp moved out of the marsh and the spawning is in their mind so all this combined makes the "catching " challenging. The good news is with weather patterns and temps settling the bite is going to be very very good starting this coming week

In the last 7 days. Catching plenty because of hard work!!! Anglers are complaining about fish being in very odd patterns due to temperatures all over up and down, and atmospheric pressures the same but I am still finding them!!!

Fishing on the Fox Chain of Lakes. Has been lights out, while the bite windows are short the right time, the fishing is phenomenal. Ice conditions very great ly so we have safe access and we are totally open for the season

Dust off your 10wt - the big girls are in the marsh, the water has dropped out, and the forage is plentiful. Shots on big fish with explosive shallow water eats are a daily occurrence this time of year. The schools of bull reds have broken up and they’ve become more solitary as they prowl the shallow interior marshes hoovering up shrimp, crabs, and every living creature unfortunate enough to cross their path. The water has dropped out for winter, concentrating the fish and making them easy to spot. The wind can be a little unpredictable, but in between fronts,...

As the days get cooler, the fishing gets hotter down here in South Louisiana. The bull reds and jacks are schooling by the tens and even hundreds some days. I’ve been heading out to the edge of the Gulf to intercept these packs of maniacs. Doubling and tripling up on 30lb redfish on fly is a common occurrence and will continue till about thanksgiving. Nothing gets your blood pumping like rolling up to a school of huge bulls boiling the water and breaching like dolphins as they decimate a pod of migrating shrimp - Cast a fly in there and...
