Temperatures are warmer than normal so trout are still somewhat in Summer mode. Majority of hatch are midges and sulfur. Some blue wing olive and caddis. Nymphing works best on short aggressive strips. Midge and sulfur dry flies dominate when fish are rising to feed.

Cooler night temperatures mean insect hatches are more active especially early mornings. Blue wing olive nymphs and emergers are working very well by themselves in slower water, dropped under a weighted woolybugger in fast water. Midges are still active early. Some afternoons are fishing well but not yet enough activity to warrant any afternoon or full day trips just yet. Bite is still somewhat soft so hook set on the slightest twitch is very important

Fly fishing is great early morning only during hot/warm weather. Midge and caddis dominate early morning hatches. Strikes are delicate so don't hesitate to set the hook.

Fishing has been great lately. Small midges have been king along with a green Caddis. Larger fish should be making their way up river this month so get ready y'all!!!

Fishing has been excellent lately. Lots of fish caught with a few nice size ones as well. Damsel nymphs, Caddis, midges, hairs ear nymphs, pheasant tail nymphs and more are all working well. Elk hair Caddis and small adams have also been working well later in the morning.

Fishing has been excellent!!! Even a few big ones landed lately!!! Morning has been the best time to fish. It's the time of year where small flies work the best. Zebra midge is assorted colors work the best in size 20. Scuds are also working well in size 20. Come fish with me!

Fishing has been absolutely fantastic!!!! A lot of fish to the net this week. The rain kept the temperatures down which was a nice relief. Not many hatches as that is expected this time of year. That means fishing the bottom. Nymphs and midges are king this time of year. Everything is small I do mean small with size 20 being your biggest size fly. The reward for fishing these little flies is lots of fish to the net! Come fish with me!
