Red River (TX) Fishing Reports (July 2026)

The fishing is tough as the lake flooded blood red, and no oxygen in water to stir up stripers! We tried our best with live bait and artificial but still tough! Lots catfish tho!

The summer has been tough, brutal work the extreme heat. It's him and miss mostly but everyone seems to understand and just enjoy the outing and being together. Fall has just arrived but still hit, but people are beginning to book again. With cooler weather it would be lights out. We get out early fish 4. 5 hours and clean fish. Last few weeks been slow but had about 3 trips under winter conditions. Winter here is in low 70s to high 40s so not that bad. Caught limit of striper each trip with lots big fish over 30 inches. Fish deep mostly but I been trolling shallows and catching lots fish at same spot each trip. Little breeze always helps but most time in higher winds which blows fish into shallow humps, just in my trolling range .

Weather real chilly, but light winds making a great day for fishing Lake Texoma . Very few Guides out but I have been busy catching stripers trolling. I make my own jigs and vivid colors, yellow, white; order the frames which hold 9 jigs and catching multiple fish and big fish. July 2022 has had its ups and downs, sound like....fishing? The heat has been like any other, in July, hot and dry. Don't plan on a limit of fish, as if you got 20 plus fish you had a good day. Someone will always argue with me but the majority had tough days, plenty big fish, but a limit takes lot of patience. Fishing on Lake Texoma, past several days. I had the large stripers located while trolling, but suddenly fishing changed and I went to live bait. Changes like this costs at least one day of poor results but I expect that, and change before poor fishing continues. Getting bait at 3:30 am is not my favorite thing to do, but it worked out great, and on to fabulous catch's. I was quite surprised by the large size of fish caught on bait, but great feeling to be back on track with striper limits!
