The sheepshead fishing is getting hot. The end of March and early April are my favorite times to catch the sheep's head. We have a lot of big fish that push into our river to spawn. The red fish bite is also heating up with these water temperatures getting warmer.

Warmer weather is helping our cause! Mix of fish this week, few a slot reds along with trout and ringtails for the frying pan. Some bigger reds in the mix as well! If the weather cooperates, the black sea bass have been biting as well!

Today we had to adjust plans a bit with rain in the forecast, so instead of running as far offshore as I wanted, we fished some productive, nearshore, live bottom.
The action stayed steady with plenty of black sea bass to keep rods bent, and we also put one red
snapper in the boat. Water temperature was 54, still on the cooler side, but the fish were chewing.
