This past week we had some spectacular two-hour trips with the younger crowd. Lots of action with some good whiting catches which is great for the dinner table. Had quite a few in the fourteen-to-sixteen-inch range. The backwater trips produced some nice redfish and speckled trout. Most were
caught using a live shrimp under a cork. The redfish were in the one-to-four-foot range with the trout being caught anywhere from four feet to 10 feet. There are still the big black drum around with bull redfish being caught at the jetties, when it's not rough.

Jetty fishing is on FIRE 🔥A lot of 3-4hr trips over the last few weeks. When the weather allows you to go. Last 2 days have been a little slower do to the water clarity, but still great fishing.

Jetty fishing is about as good as it gets for March and April. 3-4hr trips are all you need too 🎣🎣🎣

Despite some really cold days here in Fernandina Beach, the speckled trout bite was pretty darn good. There were a few days when the temperature was not bad. Fishing in deeper water was the key to getting these fish. We had good catches with plenty of slot-size fish. We ended up fishing in eight to ten feet of water using an adjustable float rig and a live shrimp. With the cold weather behind us, the fishing will kick into high gear.

Fishing has been really good on our nearshore ledges and rock piles. This is the time for big Black Sea bass. Fun action and great eating as the whole family will have fun doing it!

Fishing has been on fire. Clearer water. Schooled up fish. Abnormal amount of tailing on the flats. Recommend throwing small and lighter colored as they can be rather spooky. Maintaining distance from the fish is highly recommended. Prefer clear skies and midday low to take advantage of sight casting.
