The Brazos River has been fishing exceptionally well lately with healthy flows creating ideal conditions for a true mixed-species experience. We’ve been seeing some very healthy bass eating on mouse patterns, and there are still several big females holding on beds.
The consistent water flow has really kept the action steady, leading to productive multi-species days. Along with largemouth smashing topwater flies, anglers are also finding solid numbers of spotted bass and freshwater drum throughout the system. One of the highlights recently has been encounters with oversized longnose gar, including fish pushing 48” and larger.

Carp fishing continues to improve as well, with plenty of opportunities at fish actively feeding in the shallows. Sight-fishing conditions have been good, and patient presentations are getting rewarded.
Overall, the Brazos is offering a diverse and exciting fishery right now with quality bass fishing, aggressive topwater eats, powerful gar, and consistent shots at shallow-water carp all in the same outing.
We had a couple of trips the last few nights and wanted to wait to send this over. We had a lot of rain last week, which caused the lakes to rise by 1-2 feet! With that, the big fish have followed, and fishing has been great. It will probably stay great going into the spring with all the water we have in our lakes.

The high water we experienced in late spring early summer has set us up for an incredible summer. While the striper and white bass fishing has slowed down we have seen an increase in activity from other species.
Largemouth are good on poppers in the morning and late evening, while slow sinking streamers around brush and cut banks have filled the slower parts of the day.
Spotted bass have moved into the riffles in numbers and can be caught in all water columns. A popper dropper rig with any small streamer has brought a ton of doubles to hand.

Carp are in vegetation at sunrise and sunset, and can be found in slower water behind tail outs and riffles throughout the day. Crawfish, damsels, and jelly’s have put fish in the net.
Gar, drum, and sunfish have filled in slower parts of the day.
Spring time has shown up that the water temps are perfect, and the recent rain has helped us! We were on the fish like always, but this month has been epic!

Warmer water temps from the spring weather have the fish just about ready to spawn, and we're putting clients on some huge fish and tons of good numbers right now. The dates are available but filling super quickly!

Bowfishing is still awesome in the winter time lots of big buffs out roaming around but trips are slower this time of year due to the cold unfortunately.
But we're still on them if folks want to bare the elements

Outstanding trip! Shane went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the opportunity to get on fish, and he was constantly jumping into action whenever needed. He has a genuine heart for service and is incredibly passionate about what he does. It truly doesn’t get any better than this!
Thank you so much, Shane! We had an amazing time and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience!
My nephew and I recently went on a fishing kayak tour on the Brazos River, and we had a fantastic experience with our guide, Shane. From the very start, it was clear that he has a deep knowledge of the river—he knew exactly where to go and gave great advice on how and where to fish.
Shane was incredibly patient with both of us, making sure we felt comfortable and confident the entire time. He took the time to explain techniques and answer questions without ever making us feel rushed. His calm, friendly approach really made the trip enjoyable.
Thanks to his guidance, we had a successful outing and learned a lot along the way. If you’re considering a fishing trip on the Brazos, I would definitely recommend Shane as your guide. He made it a memorable experience for both me and my nephew.
Great experience, tough weather although Clayton worked hard and we shot 6 birds, mostly cause we arnt the best shooters lol. Clayton made the trip a memory we wont forget. A guide id recommend to anyone that has experience or is just getting into duck hunting. 5/5 stars!
Andy was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. The effort he put in to make this early season hunt as successful as possible did not go unnoticed. We had fun and great conversations. I would definitely book again.
Tough day on the water but was grateful for the effort Clayton put in. He scouted for days before the trip and unfortunately the birds just werent down yet, but he gave us every chance we could get for the birds that were around. Looking forward to hunting with him again in a week or two when more birds are down in central TX.
I booked this trip for my husband and he loved it! His guide Cody was great, very communicative. My husband caught a lot of fish and had a lot of fun. Thanks Cody!
Captain Blake made a valiant effort trying to get us on fish that were just not cooperating. He was on time, great at giving directions, extremely attentive the entire time and most of all he was friendly and treated us with the utmost respect. This was a last minute booking because our original guide canceled. Captain Experiences did a fantastic job accommodating our needs and constantly communicated with us the entire time. I would definitely book again with C-E and Captain Blake. I highly recommend both!
We had a great float trip! Our guides, Cody and Mitch were fantastic!! They were very knowledgeable of the river how to get us on fish. We had a beginner that had never fly fish before and Cody and Mitch were very patient with teaching him how to cast and catch fish on a fly rod. I would highly recommend these guys for fishing on the Brazos!
