Fall Fishing is in full swing on South Padre Island. Rarely do I say this, but Fishing for all species has been unbelievable save for Tarpon off the beachfront which will likely push further south with the passing of today's cold front. If you have ever thought about making a trip down to this area, now is the time.

Captain Mikes South Padre Fishing Report 9/16/26. The bay fishing has been tougher throughout this past month. Water temperatures and overall weather has been hot! Still catching some solid speckled trout out of deeper water drop offs. Catching some flounder and reds. Most of the fish are hanging in the deepest water they can find. Typically we get rain and some weak northerly winds push through South Texas throughout September. Once temperatures start to drop I would suspect that the redfish will start cruising the grass flats in search of prey. The bite should only get better once the weather...

Hers is a pic of todays snapper trip and my trolling trip from last week
Snapper by 10 then went and trolled for kingfish got two miss two and then went to go catch the lake, but all I could find was ones that were too small. We had about 12 under the boat.

Lower Laguna Madre fishing has been very consistent let's get it done early in the morning. Lots of top water action and throwing soft Plastics early catching speckled trout redfish and Flounder occasional Snook. Mid-morning to afternoon once the wind picks up popping court with live shrimp or finger mullet is a for sure thing.
It's not fast and furious but boy is it consistent try to get in by about 10:30 before the sun really starts cranking and gets hot

Water is slowly cooling with cooler nights. Moving muskies up shallow on stained water lakes.
