Another good outing on Lake Conroe yesterday (6/19/2026). My half-day trip was with two customers from Louisiana who wanted to catch crappie, or as they call them back home, sac-a-lait.
We had a great day on the water, and the crappie were cooperating. My customers came close to a one-man limit, but with the weather moving in, we decided to head back a little earlier than planned. Better safe than sorry. We found fish in 15 to 25 feet of water, with water temperatures holding in the mid-80s. Minnows were the bait of choice. They had the Crappie Rods working!

Had a great time today with some old friends! We couldn’t pin down the exact year, but it’s been at least 25 years since the three of us were together at the same time. We shared a lot of laughs reminiscing about old memories and stories from years ago. They had to work hard for the bite today, but still managed to take home a good mess of fish. 😁 Ronnie was using minnows, but eventually switched to a jig after realizing he was being outfished by John, who was using jigs from TMT Fishing and Hand Tied Jigs. We fished 13–25 FOW, and the water temp held around 80 degrees. Green/black and pink/black were the colors today.
Enjoyed fishing with my son-in-law (Dana Walker) today! It was his first time using LiveScope, and while there was a little bit of a learning curve, he caught on quickly. He said he wanted a limit of crappie, and that’s exactly what he got — and then some! We fished in 14 to 25 feet of water, and the bait of choice today was minnows along with a chartreuse/black jig from TMT Fishing and Hand Tied Jigs. Water temperature was 79–81 degrees. Great day on the water!

WOW!!! What a difference one day on Lake Conroe can make!
Today, the lake settled down and made fishing much more enjoyable than yesterday—especially for my first-time Livescope customers.
I had the pleasure of having a father, his son, who is visiting from California and his son-in-law on the boat. We started out with a catch-and-release catfish trip, and after putting up double digits, they were ready to switch things up and try some crappie fishing with Livescope. They were determined to get the hang of it and learn how to make those crappie chase a jig—and the fish cooperated! Since they were being released, the crappie didn’t seem to mind playing along. 😂 They ended up catching and releasing double digits there as well.
After that, it was all about relaxing, kicking back, and enjoying some quality time together on the boat. Water temp was mid 70’s. We fished 15 to 25fow. The crappie were not interested in the minnows as much as they were the chart/white and pink/black jigs.
Another good day on the water with some crappie action—first and second time LiveScope users and they were well on their way to a double limit.
Had to cut it short due to their schedule and some bad weather moving in, but they got the hang of it quickly. Fished 14–23 FOW with water temps right around 70 degrees. Pink and black jig & chartreuse and black jig from TMT Fishing and Hand Tied Jigs along with monkey milk mayfly from Bobby Garland got the job done.

Got out on Lake Conroe for a few hours today and the crappie bite was on fire 🔥
It was one of those beautiful days on the lake — light breeze, warming temps, and fish ready to eat. I put double digits back in the water to catch another day. Fished 10–18 feet with water temps sitting at 58–60 degrees.
Almost anything green was getting bit, but lemon-lime plastics really stood out. Chartreuse/black and pink/black jigs from TMT Fishing and Hand Tied Jigs were in the mix too, and I put the Fiction Shad from 6th Sense to work as

Today’s second time repeat LiveScope customer had to put in the work, but it paid off with 20 solid keepers in the box. 💪🎣
Bounced around to about a dozen spots to make it happen, with 5–6 throwbacks along the way. Fish were caught in 12–33 FOW, with the stronger bite coming in the deeper water (20–33’).
Water temps held steady around 55–57°. Those crappie were tucked tight to the brush and lying right on the bottom.
Lemon Lime plastics produced some bites, but the majority came on chartreuse & white and pink & black jigs from TMT Fishing and

Mark was a great guide. I’ve been on many charters but Mark definitely took things to a whole new level. He made sure we caught a fish and helped us the entire catch. Mark is very knowledgeable in his craft and I’ll definitely be returning to him in the near future.
Ray was very friendly and experienced. His tackle and boat was clean and tip top. Fish wasn’t biting at first but Ray stayed at it and put us on good fish and ended up with many in the live well. Ray is very knowledgeable and a great guide. Would use again!
Richard was super friendly and full of knowledge! He had great tips to better refine, (or learn how to) use baitcaster reels. The morning started out pretty slow, but we did end up catching a few smaller guys after the water warmed up. We will definitely go out with Richard again!
Fantastic morning with Richard bringing in catfish by the dozens. Very helpful, informative, and easy to get along with. I highly recommend him for your next trip out on Lake Conroe.
Captain Richard was great! Myself being an experience bass fisherman, He was very informative. He put us on some bass even when the bite wasn't great! We will definitely be back!
Very satisfied with the trip we did with Mark. He was very knowledge and worked hard to get us in the fish. Very personable with a great attitude, and the supplied gear worked great. Would not hesitate to book with him again!!!
