Captain Harold of Al-Lin Charters is proud owner and operator of the Al-Lin Charter Boat, a family owned and operated Destin fishing charter business since day one.
Harold’s father, Harold Senior, built his first boat (really just a box) when he was just a few years old, and he sailed it in the New Basin Canal in New Orleans around 1930.
Harold Senior was encouraged and went on to build as many as 30 boats in his lifetime, each one getting larger and larger, with ten of those boats measuring 30 feet plus.
After many of Harold Senior's fantastic boat creations, Harold Senior and Harold Jr built the Al-Lin which is named after Harold’s two children, “AL” for Allen and “LIN” for Lindley.
Harold moved from Biloxi to Destin and started fishing in 1973 and hasn't stopped! Allen and Lindley would ride along as young children and started helping with some of the charters. Allen became a captain at the age of 18.
Harold’s daughter’s children, Gavin and Madison are now enjoying fishing at the ages of 7 and 10. Now they go with their “PawPaw” and help out with some of the charter trips. Jace, Harold’s nephew, has been on several trips and now has ‘fishing in his blood’.
Captain Harold says, “We have been very Blessed to make a living from what we love to do!”

Capt. Harold did a great job even during the storm. We caught several different kinds of fish. Everyone was very pleased with all the fish that were kept and the ones released. 1st mate Steven worked his but off to keep hooks baited and with the fish coming onboard. Great first trip with my son. Tight Lines

Morning trip Captain Harry. Caught some quick bait… Then some Spanish and King Mackerel. Went bottom fishing, and caught some red and black snapper!
August 31, 2019
The trip started with bait fishing until we caught about 25. We then trolled (4 fishing lines in the water dragging baited hooks while we moved) for a while and caught a 3lb spanish mackeral on the way out away from shore. We then caught several Trigger fish that we had to throw back. We caught one red fish and encountered situations where smaller fish were repreatedly steeling our squid bait while the fishing lines were dropping to the bottom. When we were nearing the 4 hour limit we started back to shore and caught another 3lb mackeral while trolling back to shore. We used open face reels the whole time with different lb test lines depending on what type fishing we were doing. The weather was great and the waves were 2 to 4 feet. A little rocky while fishing, but still fun. The crew cleaned and filleted the fish for us. We cooked the fish at our rented condo the next day and it was way more than we could eat. Captain Harold did a good job and all were very accomodating.
