About Your Trip

8 Hour Full day trip for up to 6 people departs at 0630.

You will be going out on a spacious 44' Express Marlago Jefferson Yacht. Twin 450 HP 3208 Caterpillar engines. Vessel is equipped with all the electronics needed. GPS, Sonar, Radar, VHF and more. You will be using top of the line tackle, rods and reels, Vessel is equipped with fighting chair, 2 large live wells, Outriggers, Center rigger, Downrigger and many other
specific tools that we use to target all the different species that roam these Florida Keys waters.

In the Summertime: We generally stop to catch some live bait and then could be straight offshore to chase Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Marlin, dropping for Jacks, Grouper, Tile fish, snappers etc. Additionally there is always the option to stop on the reef on the way out or the way back to catch some Snapper, most common Yellowtail or Mangrove.

In the Wintertime: Again generally stop for some live bait and more than likely stay close to the reef to start out and target Sailfish, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi, Snapper, Bonita some others.

All you need to bring is whatever you would like to eat and drink and we have everything else ready for you to come aboard and enjoy a great day and create some unforgettable memories!

Please remember to thank your mate with a 20% tip.

Captain Troy

Independent Guide
Captain Troy has been fishing since a very young age. Nearly 50 years ago his parents introduced him to fishing the small trout streams of southwestern Pennsylvania. That’s how it all started. After high school he moved to Florida and began fishing the New Smyrna area, that’s where the salt water addiction began. The Capt. Has fished the east coast from Florida to Maine including some inland waters such as Lake Ontario, Erie and Michigan. Fished the Chesapeake Bay for trophy rockfish and out of ocean city, Md. Into the canyons for the big blue fin tuna. Outer banks of North Carolina into the Gulf Stream for all the game fish that strive there. As good as the fishing is in all these places, nowhere compares to Islamorada, Fl. Where the captain now calls home. Truly the fishing Capital of the world.

We had a blast fishing with Captain Troy and his crew! They did everything possible to provide us an exciting adventure during our vacation. We caught a variety of fish and enjoyed grilling them up that evening. We highly recommend Captain Troy for your Florida Keys fishing adventure.

First Time Booking with Us?

Captain Experiences is the home of over 1500 Damn Good fishing and hunting guides. Our mission is to unlock the outdoors for everyone, and we want to help you get out there through our no-hassle online booking experience and our team of outdoors experts.
We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.
Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.
Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
Once you book the trip, we will connect you directly with the guide to go over any additional details. In the meantime, our team is always available to answer your questions via email, text, chat, or call!
