The ad listed multiple types of sharks that we would go after and that it was a “keep what you catch” and offered “fish cleaning on site”. 3 hours into the 4 hour trip we were informed that we could not keep any of our catch and that he
...Read More would “not be bringing any sharks into his boat”. (Even though in the ad the show pictures of sharks on the boat). This should have been advertised as well as be brought up before the charter began. And then came up with multiple excuses for why we couldn’t including “I can’t clean a shark”, “the ice house that cleans fish is closed for the season and or closed for the night”, “we can’t even fit anything but small fish on the boat”, and then told us that the only sharks legal to take for the area are black tip sharks even though they advertise they go for multiple types. The captain was personable and helpful, and made sure our lines were baited and in the water, as well as help pull in the sharks that we did catch. Also was advertised as a charter with captain Alan, but this is not who captained our charter. We did catch 2 sharks and they were fun to reel in. But it was extremely disappointing to reel one in close to the boat and be told to take a picture and then see him cut the line and let it go. If the intention is just to take a picture and let it go then this should be advertised for this charter. Also boat did not come equipped with a fighting belt to assist with pulling in large fish, or any hooks or equipment to pull a shark into the boat, was clear they had no intention of keeping these sharks.
Alan was the best fishing guide that I have experienced. We caught our limit of red snapper in 30 minutes. We also caught our limit of another type of snapper in less than an hour. He knew exactly where to stop. Fish were biting as fast as you threw out
