In fishing, a teaser is a small lure or bait that is used to attract larger game fish to the boat. It's designed to mimic the size and shape of the natural prey that the game fish are feeding on, creating an illusion that may attract the attention of the game fish. This technique is particularly effective when targeting big game species such as sailfish, white marlin, blue marlin, tuna, and dolphin. Teasers are often deployed in the prop wash, the area directly behind the boat where the wake created by the boat's propeller creates a current. This current can help to keep the teaser moving and visible to the fish.
